BAD EGGS
If you have discarded your booklets, kindly go back and retrieve them. If you cannot remember receiving them, congratulations. You’re in the right place.
Alright chief, before we get into the really high-octane stuff there’s a slightly more unpleasant subject we need to get out of the way. Up to now we’ve been making everything sound like a Sunday drive through eternity.
You’re starting to remember who you are. Windows are down, engine’s purring. The stars are illuminating the wondrous path ahead… But that ain’t the whole picture, and here’s where things get a little less snug. Turns out we’re not the only outfit doing business around here.

Does this image give you Déjà vu?
We call them, for the sake of office morale, BAD EGGS. What we’re dealing with here is more calculated and complex than we have room to explain. And truth is, we don’t have a clean file on what they are. What we do know lines up nicely with your own observations.
They don’t like beauty, they purposefully interfere with coherent thought, and in one way or another, our business happens to throw a wrench in theirs. Certain insect-like characteristics have also been observed, but that particular can of worms ought to remain closed for now. From what little we’ve been able to scrape together, they’re not too keen on us “broadening our horizons” if you catch the drift. And sure, if you look at the mess humankind has made in some spots, you can kind of see how they cooked up that idea. But their reasoning about the whole thing its pretty distorted.
They don’t think it’s worth it to try and heal the instrument. They want to smash it. Or we could say, they won’t just prune the plant when it isn’t growing quite right. They’d rather salt the soil. And that “soil,” as you intuited correctly, is not dirt.
Now we don’t want to stir up a bunch of fear and paranoia. The point is simply this, these things exist, and so do their little insect auxiliaries. If you’re going to work for us, sooner or later you’re liable to cross paths with them. They are really, really good at breaking up your sense of things and making it appear like everything is coming apart at the seams.
They scramble signals, and have a knack for convincing folks that life is a flat, one-dimensional affair with four thick walls and no exit. Don’t buy it!
Keep your head on a swivel, kid. Make sure your sense of humor humming, and don’t let anybody convince you the map ends wherever they say it does. And if things ever start closing in, remember, REMEMBER, Beauty is the escape route.
